Viristar led a session at ITB Berlin 2025 on ‘Adventure Tourism and the Science of Safety: Applying Current Research in Systems-Based Risk Management to Travel Experiences’.

Jeff Baierlein, Viristar’s Director, has been invited as a distinguished speaker at the Fujairah International Conference of Adventure Tourism. The event is set to take place on April 29 – May 2, 2025 in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

This session offered guidance on the development of adventure tourism safety regulations, with a focus on supporting economic development and sustainable business growth.

Viristar was pleased to collaborate with the Union of International Mountain Leader Associations (UIMLA) to host a webinar on “Risk Management in the Mountains” for International Mountain Leaders around the world

In February, at the American Camp Association (ACA) National Conference in Dallas, Texas, USA, Viristar’s Program Manager, Annie Linhart, delivered a Risk Domains in Outdoor Programs workshop to camp professionals from around the world.

Viristar is delighted to welcome Erin Rush as our new Program Coordinator.

Erin brings years of professional experience as a Trip Coordinator, adventure guide, and outdoor educator for multi-week and multi-activity outdoor excursions. She holds a certification as an Environmental Education Facilitator and as a Wilderness First Responder. Erin is trained in Mental Health First Aid and is a Leave No Trace instructor.

Viristar is deeply engaged in the 2025 Outdoor Forum for South East Asian Schools (OFFSEAS), which will be held on April 26-27, 2025 at Bangkok Patana School in Thailand.

In November 2024, Viristar’s Program Manager, Annie Linhart, delivered two workshops on Risk Domains in Outdoor Programs, aimed at preparing administrators and program leaders with tools to enhance safety in outdoor, experiential, and adventure programming.

Viristar held a Wilderness First Aid course November 15-17 2024, in Bogor as part of its continued efforts to advance risk management practices and safety standards in outdoor and wilderness settings worldwide.
