Continuing Education Credits Available for Safety Training through ACCT International

Viristar is pleased to share that participants in the Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course can now earn continuing education units (CEUs) through ACCT International (Association for Challenge Course Technology).

The course has been approved to provide CEUs for both Inspector Certification (ICE) and Operation Reviewers (ORs).

This recognition supports challenge course professionals seeking high-quality professional development that aligns with ACCT certification and maintenance requirements.

Participants who complete the Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course are eligible to receive 26 CEUs toward Inspector Certification (ICE) and 36.5 CEUs toward Operation Reviewer (OR) requirements through ACCT International.

These credits contribute to certification maintenance, as in-house inspectors are required to earn 24 CEUs every two years, professional inspectors must earn 32 CEUs every two years, and qualified Operation Reviewers must complete 16 hours of relevant training annually to maintain reviewer status.

The Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course is a 40-hour online training that provides participants with an in-depth understanding of systems thinking in risk management, legal considerations, incident response planning, and safety culture development. Course graduates receive a three-year internationally recognized certification.

ACCT International continuing education credits associated with the Viristar course do not require additional fees or registration steps beyond course completion. Upon completing the Risk Management for Outdoor Programs training, participants may use their course completion certificate to document applicable continuing education hours in accordance with ACCT requirements.
