January Cohorts Successfully Complete Risk Management for Outdoor Programs Training Course

Graduates of best-in-class training prepared to improve outdoor safety at their organization and beyond

Participants from three continents received their course completion certificates from Viristar's online Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course this week. Outdoor and experiential professionals from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, USA, Greece and the United Arab Emirates attended.

The course took place over the month of January, with a mix of live video-conference sessions and independent work. Participants watched online video lectures, participated in role-play scenarios, reviewed current research in risk management, and completed a strategic plan to improve outdoor safety in their experiential program.

Participant Syed Ismail, Assistant Director (Training) & Master Instructor, Outward Bound Singapore, said, "Viristar's Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course is intensive, thought provoking, and designed to make one critically think about the adequacy of the existing risk management...useful for both novices as well as seasoned practitioners."

Another participant, Dr. Christian Bisson, Professor of Adventure Education & Adventure Education Program Coordinator at Plymouth State University, commented, "Great course full of useful information. Very practical view on how to develop and manage risk in the outdoor industry."

Upcoming courses are scheduled for February, March, April, May and June. More information is available at https://courses.viristar.com/course-catalogue/online-risk-management/.
