AEOE and Viristar have a history of connection. As far back as 2003 and 2004, Viristar’s Director, Jeff Baierlein, presented at AEOE state-wide conferences on environmental education and adventure education topics. These presentations were well-received by the AEOE community, and brought about requests for consulting and training services from environmental and outdoor education providers in California and beyond, helping lead to the formation of Viristar as a provider of professional development and consulting services.

About AEOE: The California Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education, founded in 1954, works to advance the impact of environmental and outdoor education in California. AEOE offers an Environmental Educator Certification Program, extensive teaching resources, and a wide variety of networking and professional development opportunities, including state-wide and regional conferences. An affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education, AEOE has 380 members, including over 50 organizational members throughout California. The organization envisions a world where every young person lives in a healthy community with access to meaningful learning experiences outdoors.
