Viristar is pleased to present a webinar as part of the ANCA CONNECTS series hosted by the Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA), where our Director, Jeff Baierlein, will lead a discussion on risk management for nature centers.
Nature centers offer valuable learning experiences in the out-of-doors, but these experiences are not without risk. How can nature centers effectively manage risks associated with outdoor activities, and what are the standards and good practices for doing so?
This ANCA CONNECTS event will address those questions.
The presentation will begin by providing a definition of risk management, and will introduce a theoretical model of incident prevention and mitigation specifically designed for outdoor programs.
The group will then walk through good safety practices for outdoor programs, and discuss specific, actionable steps that nature centers can take to improve safety outcomes at their organization.
Information on how to access additional resources on outdoor safety will be shared with attendees.
