Viristar’s Director, Jeff Baierlein, will be presenting at the Biennial Outdoor Industry Summit of Outdoors NSW and ACT in June 2023.
The theme of the conference is “Connecting for Progress.” The three-day event is hosted in Australia by Outdoors NSW and ACT in partnership with NSW Government and Destination NSW.
Jeff will be a panelist for the conference’s breakout session “Risk vs. Reward.” He will be joined by Jon Sleeman of Child Safety Network, Safework NSW and David Gregory of Xcursion. Child Safety Network is the premier library of child-safe resources in Australia, cultivating compliance, training, investigation, and child safety activities. Safework NSW is the workplace health and safety regulator in New South Wales, providing regulation, evaluation, and annual reports to the whole of NSW. Xcursion is a risk management trainer and consultant for schools that manage excursion, sport, and international travel.
This well-rounded group will discuss where the industry is not performing in risk management.

Viristar has worked with the NSW Office of Sport as well as a number of NGOs, schools, and colleges in Australia on risk management training, including a partnership with Inside the Outhaus.
With an outdoor sector worth $7.8 billion as of 2018 in New South Wales, the region is brimming with opportunity. Outdoors NSW & ACT is supported by the NSW Government Office of Sport, which demonstrates the administration’s confidence in outdoor recreation, education, adventure tourism, and therapy for their citizens.
