Viristar Renews Affiliate Membership with Federation of British International Schools in Asia

Viristar is proud to renew our Affiliate Membership with FOBISIA (Federation of British International Schools in Asia) for the 2025-2026 membership year. This ongoing partnership reflects our shared commitment to fostering safe and high-quality outdoor and experiential learning opportunities for students across Asia.

Established in 1988, FOBISIA is a not-for-profit membership organisation connecting a community of Member Schools spanning 19 countries across Asia, including Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

FOBISIA supports its member schools through professional development, peer networks, and student events, all aimed at promoting excellence in British-international education.

Educators from several FOBISIA schools have participated in our outdoor safety trainings, including representatives from British School Manila in the Philippines, Prince Of Wales Island International School in Malaysia, and North London Collegiate School Jeju in South Korea.

Rich Hunt, Primary Service Learning Coordinator at British School Manila and a graduate of the Risk Management for Outdoor Programs course states, “Engaging during weekly meetings has brought the topic of risk management alive. My awareness and knowledge on the topic has expanded into new areas of safety and inspired me to learn more.”

In addition to our risk management training, we provide a wide range of services designed to help schools elevate the quality and safety of their outdoor and experiential programs. Our offerings include safety audits, incident reviews, safety systems development, and adventure safety accreditation.

We also assist with curriculum development for outdoor, experiential, and adventure programming, ensuring a well-rounded and impactful learning experience.

As an affiliate member, we are committed to collaborating with FOBISIA to further enhance and expand the Federation’s offerings for its member schools, which serve over 90,000 students. We are proud to offer our services and expertise to support FOBISIA schools in improving the quality of their outdoor and experiential programs.
