Viristar’s Director, Jeff Baierlein, has been selected to present at the America Outdoors 2022 Conference & Outfitter Expo, November 29-December 2, 2022 in Orlando Florida.
Jeff will be presenting on “Improving Safety Outcomes Through Applying Safety Science.”
Workshop participants will learn how to take advantage of the best contemporary thinking on incident prevention and mitigation to help ensure their outdoor adventure program exhibits excellence in risk management.
The presentation will take a look at theoretical models of incident causation developed by researchers in the aviation and healthcare industries, and examine how they can be applied to the outdoor adventure context.
Attendees will explore how complex systems theory and resilience engineering can be used to develop and implement high-quality risk management plans for outfitter and guide companies. They will leave the workshop with practical ideas they can use right away to improve safety, customer service satisfaction, and profitability at their organization.
