Viristar is participating in the upcoming American Camp Association (ACA) National Conference, taking place in Dallas, Texas, USA, from February 18 to February 21, 2025.

Viristar delivered a three-hour workshop on the science of safety, and how it can be applied to adventure tourism operations, to the 2024 cohort of the Mountain Adventure Skills Training program at the College of the Rockies in Fernie, British Columbia, on the west side of the Canadian Rockies.

Viristar has submitted comments in support of Outdoor Nature-Based Preschool in Maryland USA, where the state government is finalizing regulations that would formally approve and license outdoor preschools that meet certain safety and quality standards.

Wilderness risk management can occur in remote natural areas, such as Borneo’s 750-square-kilometer Kinabalu Park, or regional parks and rural settings closer to emergency services. “Outdoor safety” and “wilderness risk management” are sometimes used interchangeably.

Alison Tilsley had a great sense of humor, and a love for everyone around her. She had a sunny nature,  loved humorous wordplay, and would make jokes and puns. She was known by her family as a kind, caring and loving daughter, sister and auntie.
