Viristar Presents at Association for Challenge Course Technology 2023 Conference

Workshop on "Using Safety Science to Improve Outcomes" Offered at ACCT’s 33rd Annual International Conference & Expo, February 2023

Viristar will be presenting on using safety science to improve outcomes at ACCT’s Annual International Conference & Expo, which will be held February 9 - 12th, 2023 in Portland, Oregon USA.

Risk management is an essential element of good challenge course operation—and the design of accreditation, inspection and certification regimes. Viristar’s workshop will address how the academic literature of safety science can be used to improve outcomes at challenge courses.

This workshop will help challenge course, aerial adventure park, zipline and canopy tour managers understand how to apply the leading research of safety and risk management experts to build and maintain the best possible risk management system for challenge course operations.

Viristar will address the research and current best thinking on incident causation modelling, complex sociotechnical systems theory, resilience engineering, and conformance regimes. Workshop participants will get practical advice they can use right away to improve their risk management systems.

Viristar has provided risk management guidance to operators of challenge course and other outdoor adventure experiences around the world.
